January Pictures

I tried to make such shots in which there would be something that makes you look closely at the picture. It could be last year's leaf, surprisingly preserved on a birch branch, dried red Ligularia flowers with snow caps.

A strange deep blue winter sky reflected in the unfrozen stream. Icicles first appeared this winter. The days were not cold and snow began to melt during the day.

Today is my birthday. Time flies by, Life goes on. On this day  I am used to meeting  with my family and friends, but this year it is not possible.  Therefore today I want to indulge myself to something tasty, a piece of cake and a glass of red wine.

What wonderful winter snowscapes, in England snow is always short-lived and messy. I am always glad when it’s gone again.

  24. My birthday is in January too. I realised I dislike January so much a few years ago that now I celebrate it later in the year. I think perhaps this year I will celebrate it in March, or perhaps April! Alas, it does not make me any younger to celebrate it later :) What time of year do your first spring bulbs generally start to show above ground?

    1. I do not like January as well Jenny. Because it's cold. This year they are not allowed to visit any museum or gather with friends. I love your idea to celebrate my birthday later, I prefer May when my garden is in bloom :-)
The first spring crocus and tulips start in April if the weather is warm enough here. It's always a happy event for me.
