Suddenness

Spring!
The snow finally melted! The sun warms the Earth.
April 22 was the Earth Day and my whole garden was decorated with colorful crocuses.

It was unexpected to find crocuses in different places: were  they apparently moving “themselves” from place to place?
Look what species of crocuses I've found under the bushes, near the hydrangea, arborvitae, roses:

Some crocuses are already fully blossomed, others have buds, others appeared out of the soil. Their roots grow directly out of the icy soil.
But all of them surprise me and delight me: what a force of Mother-nature!

YES ! Finally we both have flowers blooming and our gardens are waking up with some nice weather .. it seemed to take forever didn't it ? .. the temperatures are steadily climbing higher and a wee bit of rain helps encourage more plants to peek out.

    1. Rosemary, 3 or 4 years ago I had bought a big pack of spring bulbs. The golden crocuses were there and I tried to plant them aside of other colors. For years all mixed and now I have as you say "mini-forest'!
      Thank you!

So nice crocusses! Ours bloom only for a very short time. They had got snow on their heads and so they were damaged. But we have many daffodils

Some rhododendrons grow in my garden, they are different from azaleas, have big evergreen leaves. And they are hardier than azaleas. Thank you, Vagabonde!

  26. Beautiful! It's funny to think of plants "planting" themselves where they want to be. Perhaps they are wiser than we give them credit for. :o)

    1. Sometimes I think the plants are clever! I've seen some crocuses blooming between phlox roots. When I replanted phlox crocus was in the soil and now is nice to see them in new place, although the phlox has yet its sprouts.
      Thank you, Tammy!
