It's Already November

It's already November, in my zone 5a it means the beginning of winter. Climate is changing, winter or late autumn may be in November. These days sun does not rise high above the horizon and its rays break through the branches of trees, thuja and Aronia melanocarpa bush.

Yesterday in cold sunny afternoon I came to my summer cottage and saw small drops of frozen moisture on the branches of thuja Globo.

A thin layer of snow lay on the lawn and stones, the puddle between the bushes was frozen.

Faded flowers of Solidago were fluffy and looked like pieces of cotton. When I finished my work in the greenhouse  -  I dug pots with tulips into the ground - the sun was already setting. I liked the last sun rays through the rosa rugosa leaves.

Potentilla with its small bright yellow flowers bravely bloomed on background of the snowy lawn.

It was enough cold, I took a photo of nice sky and went home. Thanks for reading my post!

  9. The sky is very dramatic in your last photo. Our nights are drawing in now as the clocks were turned back an hour last weekend.

  11. Hello Nadezda,
it's probably a matter of fact until I will also see frost and maybe also a little snow here in my garden. The last week was still nice and sunny. But this morning we had the first 0 °C.
    Wish you a nice Sunday

  16. Your new header is beautiful, Nadezda. So nice to see the sun on those colours and a beautiful blue sky.
Lovely photos of your garden. The ice and snow seem to have crept in so soon.
I complain about cold winters here, but they are nothing compared with the icy days you experience! I hope you will continue to have many days with sunshine to brighten your life.
You will be keeping cosy, hand stitching your tapestry, I think.
Best wishes for the week ahead!

    1. You're right Betty, I'm thinking about my hobby in cold winter days - my cross stitching. There are the last days of garden work, soon plants will sleep under snow blanket, so I will need a new pattern for embroidery.
