I
love walking along the shores of the Gulf of Finland in early spring days. The Gulf of
Finland is part of the Baltic Sea. Russia, Estonia and Finland are
located on its shores. The bay near St. Petersburg is shallow, but
navigable all year round.
It was sunny and windy April day. The fine beach sand was still partially covered with ice and debris. In the spring and summer, it is constantly cleaned, especially after heavy winter winds.
Pines on the dunes
There
are many sloping sand dunes stretching for
several kilometers. I rose to dune, there was a beautiful
pure pine forest behind it. The air was clear, slightly salty, pleasant.
Along
the coast, at a short distance, there are private estates, as well as
boarding houses, sanatoriums. I walked deep into the coast, paths for walking were laid in the
pine-deciduous forest.
What fresh air!
Hi Nadezda,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos from the shores of the Gulf of Finland. The pines looks like "mine" trees over here. I can understand you very well. The big city have not that beautiful shore.
The fresh and salty air, pines and dunes... It's nice you understand me, Marit.
DeleteHave a happy week.
Kauniit dyynit. Ei ihme, että tuolla rannalla viihtyy.
ReplyDeleteMukavaa kevään jatkoa.
I love walking along dunes, Anemone.
DeleteHappy week.
How wonderful, dear Nadezda, as a traveller by heart I'm really happy to see als these amazing pictures. Such a beautiful part of the world. I only know this side from Latavia and Finland. Some day I have to go to this part of the coast.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time, take care.
Best wishes from Austria
Elisabeth
Elizabeth, the shores of the Gulf are sandy or rocky, depending on which south or north side of the Gulf you are on. Hope you can see this part some day.
DeleteHugs!
It really does look like a beautiful area, Nadezda, and perfect for a walk. I would have had my eyes and ears tuned to the birds!
ReplyDeleteDavid as the ornithologist you would like to see birds on the coast. I saw only seagulls there.
DeleteIt looks very beautiful - but cold too ;-)
ReplyDeleteHopefully you had a nice cup of something warm afterwards.
Lisbeth
Oh, that's true Lisbeth. I always have my thermos of hot tea when I'm on the shore.
DeleteSe ve bonito para pasear, me encantaría dar una vuelta por ahí. Un abrazo.
ReplyDeleteEl día estaba soleado pero fresco así que deberías traer una chaqueta abrigada, Teresa :-)

I'm glad Ela you liked to walk with me!
DeleteHappy week.
Beautiful colours and a kind of sparseness and clarity which I like. Your photos convey the atmosphere very well. I wouldn't be surprised if the idea of returning to the city grated on your nerves. Talking about blue and white, in your May 8 post, I thought that the colours of this beach overall are rather similar to your favourite colour combination for flowers -blue and white. And of course the green of vegetation.
ReplyDeleteJenny, I think you have a subtle sense of nature, and it's clear I love blue skies and white (or almost white) ice and sand. Of course, the greenery also makes me happy.
