Seedlings Are Growing

Time is running out and my little sprouts are turning into small plants. They are already growing in their individual disposable cups, which are much larger than prior ones. I made holes in these containers to drain the water.

I also bought more soil and some fertilizers then I made the soil mixture  to transfer 'babies'. That went well, none of them died.

Now every day seedlings need to be watered, sprayed and turned the other way towards the light. After 6 pm I turn on the lamps for additional illumination.

I also sowed Nasturtium (Tropaeolum), Asters (Callistephus) and a mixture of perennial flowers. For them, I chose plastic containers in which vegetables are sold in the store. Of course I made holes in these containers to drain the water the same way.

Impatiens, Begonia semperflorens and Clivia bloom constantly inside. They delight with their flowers while spring has not yet woken up here.

    1. Hetty,
I'm very glad you have stopped on my blog!
The temperature is also low here, so I think the seedlings will grow in the greenhouse.
Don't worry, they can wait for warm days at home :-)

  13. Your seedlings look so full of promise. I have just realised I should keep some of my pots that I bought seedlings in, to grow my own in! Look forward to seeing your plants after they have grown.

    1. I will post the photos of my grown seedlings, Jenny. I promise. The empty pots you have you could fill the soil and sow any flowers there. There is still time for them to grow.

  16. It's so nice to see your seedlings getting so big and your indoor plants are lovely. I especially am a fan on the Clivia. I used to have one for years until it met its demise and I keep thinking I need to get another one! Stay well my gardening friend.

    1. Dear Lee,
I do love my Clivia. It's very special one: it needs to be placed in a cool windowsill so that it blooms in April! If I forget to do this my Clivia doesn't bloom in the spring. I think this is due to warm and dry air at home.

    1. Dear RTC, thanks for your concern. My house is in order because it is far from a fire. You are right, it was an old architecture building. It’s a pity.
