Nacreous Flowers

It's the 8-sided table inlaid with nacreous flowers, 1650.

I took these photos in the Rijksmuseum, Museum of the Netherlands, Amsterdam.  What an awesome work!

  8. Hello Nadezda ! .. what stunning workmanship this is .. so absolutely gorgeous, and you took such great pictures of it. My greatest regret has been that we did not see this museum while we lived in the Netherlands .. I think they were actually working on it while we were there and a lot of their exhibits were travelling to other countries . I love Van Gogh and I am so sorry I did not see any of his original works .. but what a wonderful country to live in .. we were there for 4 years.

    1. I agree that the Netherlands is a wonderful country.
When I have been to the Rijksmuseum, Joy, I immediately went to the hall of Rembrandt's paintings. The most interesting thing for me was his "Night Watch". Also in the center of Amsterdam is a sculptural image of this painting. At the same time, this wonderful table,1650 became an unexpectedly amazing treasure of the museum that I saw.
