So, half of 2021 has passed. These six months were joyful and restless for me, and therefore I was waiting for summer days, warmth, blue sky, bright colors and delicious garden fruits.
June gave the heat + 34 C in the shade. Now I try to spend time in a shady corner, in a gazebo. It is very hot to sit on the south terrace of the cottage.
In this heat, I water the plants every day after 7 pm. Of course, I save water, because rain is not expected anytime soon. I show you blooming in the garden and wish all gardeners to enjoy summer days so that later they can remember this time on dark winter evenings.

These roses have been growing near the fence for a long time and were inherited from previous owners.

DeleteYour garden must smell nice with azaleas, honeysuckle and roses. Especially in the evenings when the temperature drops to a pleasant level. I am glad that our temperature is only in the twenties, but no rain her eighter.
ReplyDeleteI have an azalea that looks just like your 'Norhtern light' Mine is called 'Davidii'. Maybe the same in two different countries?

Lisbeth, as I learned, this "Norhtern light" variety was grown in a Finnish nursery, this is an azalea hybrid bred by Canadian gardeners. But maybe this is the same species, named differently? And yes, this azalea has a pleasant scent.

I hope that the heat moderates for you somewhat, Nadezda. Once it climbs into the thirties it is hard to take. In the meantimes your garden looks fantastic and with so many roses the fragrance must be equally spectacular. Enjoy it while you may!

ReplyDeleteHello Nadezda girl ! You have GORGEOUS flowers here ! .. that azalea is what I would love because it goes with every colour of other plants ! You have wonderful a rhododendron too ! .. I love that you have a Canadian rose .. I think it must be VERY fragrant as well ? .. it is sad when they breed roses without scent, but I guess perfection of form wins out more times than not? I know we will have hot spells here too, I dread them .. I stay in the house as long as possible and do my garden chores as quickly as possible .. this time of year we tend to do that. I hope you have a great summer despite the heat ! take care !
ReplyDeleteJoy, this Canadian rose has very pleasant smell and blooms enough long time. I love it because it winter without any shelter. The azalea Northern light smells too and fragrance is wonderful.
