Summer Watercolors 2023

Today I show you my watercolors painted in June-August of this summer. They reflect my impressions on a walk in the park, in the meadow, on the seashore.

Fireweed, meadowsweet, bluebells, chamomile and others bloomed in the meadow.

In the park, in the greenness of the trees, a small pavilion was visible, tall trees gave a pleasant shade.

Sea waves crashed on the shore, rustling over pebbles and large boulders. Sometimes I saw small yachts with white sails.

I usually take a watercolor album, paints and a water can with me. I sketch the landscape in the album. If the weather is cool, I photograph the scenery instead of sketching. Then at home I painted with watercolors on a large sheet of paper. The paper I buy is very thick, made from 100% cotton, and is comfortable to work with.Sometimes I saw small yachts with white sails.

I hope that you liked any of my watercolors.

  3. I love, love, love these. It must be a huge satisfaction to be able to capture the beauty of nature with paints and paper.
Many of the views could be from Finland, and especially the first scene is of a place I really would like to visit. :)
It's raining here now. A nice autumn day. Happy Sunday, Nadezda!

    1. Of course, our climate and weather often coincide, Sara. I especially like to depict the sea when the waves slowly rush onto the shore.

  4. This is a very great talent, Nadezda, and I like them all. It always seems to me that the most relaxing of activities must be to spend time by a stream, sketching or painting the scene that unfolds before you, capturing the light, and somehow infusing into the picture the sound of the wind, the taste of the air. Years ago, I led a group of people on a nature trip to Arizona, one of them being a talented watercolourist. She did a wonderful job of a rugged area of the Chiricahua Mountains where we stayed, and it hangs on my wall. I am looking at it right now, as I type this note. The memories of watching her paint it are still vivid today. The pleasure I derive from looking at the painting is endless. Thanks for permitting me this glimpse into your creative world.

    1. David, how nice it is that you have a picture hanging, looking at it, you remember your trip to Arizona. My paintings also remind me of the sea, sun, field and forest, especially in winter, when everything around is white. Hugs.
