Shrubs in my garden

There are many shrubs in my garden, they grow well, already have flowers, buds and small berries.

My spiraea grey "Grefsheim" dresses in a white, grows near the front door, it's so beautiful!

There are flowers and first berries on the black currant bush now.

The small yellow flowers appeared on Elaeagnus argentea and on Lonicera floribunda , they smell very nice.

The Liana Celastrus orbiculata will soon be in blossom, I like its red-orange berries in autumn and winter.

There are new buds on Liana Actinidia. I hope there will be berries-kiwi, although they had not been the last year.

My spirea "Golden flame" with dark red leaves grows near Physocarpus opulifolius "Diabolo" variety.

Every spring I buy and plant new shrubs and I have plans for the next spring as well. I'd love to have some more lilac and viburnum.

  1. Your shrubs are beautiful! I did not know that you could grow kiwi so far north. Does it produce fruit some years? That white spirea is stunning.

    1. Spruge, my Actinidia kolomikta is one of the 30 species of actinidias.
Most of the actinidias are valuable fruit plants with tasty, tender berries like kiwi, those are cylindrical in shape and 1.8 cm long, dark green, with dark stripes, edible, fragrant, delicate taste.
Thank you for spirea, I love it too.

    1. Yes, all in my family love black currant berries, so I ask them not to eat all the berries, but leave some for the jam. In winter we eat jam and remember our garden.

  4. Hi Nadezda! You have lovely bushes. My black currant plants have a lot of berries, but it's so cold that I am not sure if they will be good.

    1. Tatiana, thanks for visiting my blog! I hope to cook currant jam, if my family leave some berries on the bush.

  5. My white spirea has long finished flowering. As for the physocarpus, I always cut it down to a few buds in early spring. I like my physocarpus, the golden one and the dark red one, to stay small and full.

    1. This year my "Grefsheim" bloomed 2 weeks only because of the very warm weather, about +20-24C. I'll try to cut my physocarpus "Diabolo" next spring, as yours.
