Coasting Down the Hill

Frosty is the morning;
But the sun is bright,
Flooding all the landscape
With its golden light.

Hark the sounds of laughter
And the voices shrill!
See the happy children
Coasting down the hill.

Eyes with pleasure beaming,
Cheeks with health aglow;
Bless the merry children,
Trudging through the snow!

Now I hear them shouting,
"Ready! Clear the track!"
Down the slope they're rushing,
Now they're trotting back.

Full of fun and frolic,
thus they come and go.
Coasting down the hillside,
Trudging through the snow.

  9. Seeing the sledging is just amazing! We used to have winters like this when I was a kid but things have changed so much now. A couple of years back we had lots of snow and when I wasn't having to work out how I could get to where I needed to go, a friend and I took our snowboards to a local field with a big hill and made a little jump! It was cool! As soon as I needed to try and drive somewhere though or go to work, things became unpleasant!! I loved the snow as a child though, happy memories : )

    1. Anna, I understand you very well. The snow can be a problem. This winter we haven't lots of snow and the roads are cleaning every night. In the morning the streets are looking well. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

  11. Tobogganing, what fun! We haven't had enough snow for that yet but I love the shouts of excitement you hear as the toboggans hurtle down the hill. You have a wonderful first photo with the beam of light on the snow, good to see all those footprint marks, means the snow is being enjoyed :)

  15. Beautiful photos, very far from the weather in London right now, we had nice sunshine and 12 degrees Celsius today and I was out working in my garden. Christmas holiday will be a wash-out with rain and more rain they say. No white Christmas for us! I wouldn't mind some of your snow just for a couple of days, but no more than a couple of days :-)
