Here is the vintage postcard 'Съ Рождествомъ Христовымъ' (A Merry Christmas), 1900th.
I've finished my new cross-stitching, that makes me happy, I dislike when the work remains unfinished for a long time. I bought the 'Wild flowers and berries' pattern last fall. I liked that it combined bead embroideries, colored ribbons and cross-stitching. When I read the pattern instructions it turned out that you first need to embroider with beads and ribbons and then to work with threads. I photographed the process to see the beginning when I made raspberries and stamens with beads, petals and leaves with ribbons, then to show how the pattern changed.
Here is my new cross-stitching 'Wild flowers and berries':

What do you prefer doing in winter time? If you have made ribbon and bead embroidery what is your experience?
I have a cross stitch that I started some years ago and still haven’t finished it. I like to curl up with a good novel.
ReplyDeleteSo do I Sue but I don't like unfinished embroidery.
DeleteНадежда,прекрасная вышивка!
ReplyDeleteНа вышивку у меня не хватает времени,,шью,шью и шью....
Конечно, Надежда, я понимаю. У вас много работы, а у меня увлечение.
DeleteHappy new year to you too. I have No experience with embroidery, I stick to gardening! Groetjes Hetty
ReplyDeleteThank you Hetty!
DeleteIt's rather a long time that I did some embroidery. Nowadays my gardening hands and my eyes don't like it any more, so I stick to reading, wood splitting for the woodburner, and other outdore chores.
ReplyDeleteWish you a very Happy and Healthy new year Nadezda!
You're very busy with your cute chickens, Janneke. Thank you!
DeleteI have done cross stitch but never anything nearly as beautiful as your piece. The beads and the ribbon add wonderful depth. It is truly lovely. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're right Judy, especially beads add volume to this piece. Thank you!
DeleteYou are so talented. Gorgeous cross-stitching. I am impressed. <3
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your loved ones. Be healthy, be happy. Lots of pure love, lots of ideas and opportunities. <3 :)
Thank you, Aga for your warm wishes!
DeleteHappy new year to you, dear Nadezda! Your cross stitching is beautiful and required much skill and patience. Congratulations on finishing it. In the winter, I like to work with glass when I can't be in the garden.
ReplyDeleteI remember you stained glass and vases, Peter, they're wonderful.
DeleteYo he hecho bastante punto de cruz, últimamente lo tengo abandonado, el tuyo te ha quedado precioso. Besos.
ReplyDeleteGracias, Teresa, este fue un trabajo largo.
DeleteAnd I embroidered this pattern. Your job is beautiful. I wish you a year in good health and happiness. * I am slowly getting back to fitness, but it requires a lot of time and effort and I am often tired.

xxBasia
Thank you Basia, happy new year to you too!
DeleteYou are so talented Nadezda. I haven't embroidered anything since I was young. It would be a good hobby during winter. Right now I am dreaming about the garden, reading, cleaning the house. Nothing too exciting. Seeing your work makes me want to try embroidery again. Especially with beads involved. I wish you a Happy, healthy New Year full of fun things.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Lisa. embroidery is a good hobby especially in winter when our gardens sleep. Sure bead embroidery is very nice.
DeleteYou're quite accomplished at embroidery - very nice work!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jason!
DeleteThis is a beautiful work of art, Nadezda! I used to cross-stitch, but haven't done any in years. My favorite winter crafting is knitting, though I'm not very good at making much more than scarves. But I find it relaxing and a good way to occupy my hands instead of getting on Facebook:) Happy Holidays to you!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your scarves are beautiful, Rose. However you're busy in these cold and snowy days - I've seen on TV about deep snow in your place.
DeleteThank you, happy new week!
Querida Nadezda os deseo unos maravillosos días de fiestas y un año maravilloso. Enhorabuena por tan precioso trabajo. Besos.
ReplyDeleteGracias, Lola! Feliz ano nuevo a ti tambien!
DeleteFeliz ano nuevo a ti tambien, Lola!
DeleteI did cross stitching once years ago and might take it up again. Your work is lovely but I think I'm scared to do anything so complicated.
ReplyDeleteThis work is complicated, you're right. I'm glad you liked it, catmint!
DeleteWish you a happy new year, too, Nadezda.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I had a time when I did cross-stiching. But my favourite is crochet.
In winter times I like to crochet and knit, and I love to read books. I was hoping that I could do all that during my blog break, but all kinds of family stuff prevented me a little bit from doing it: Spend a lot of time with my husband (he is still in Japan), visited Mom in the hospital, christmas cooking...
Your cross-stitching looks beautiful!
I'd love to see your crochet and knitting Sigrid. You're busy this time, many duties. Good luck in your hobbies!
