October in the City

October has colored all trees and bushes in the city. Saint Petersburg looks pretty, just brighter in these cloudy, rare sunny days. I have taken photos of the park with paving stones paths, benches and playgrounds, between quarters of houses, kindergartens and schools. I often walk here.

Wild Cherry tree

My favorite place is on the last photo. The huge wild cherry tree spread its branches on a large area and makes shadow in summer time, looks beautiful in winter with dark-red berries on white snow-covered bare branches. Now in October the it seems a large yellow umbrella.

  1. It's a beautiful place to walk, Nadezda. Most of those pictures could have been taken right here in Canada.

  3. Beautiful photos, Nadezda! The Maples are so pretty. Here we had snow and frost earlier, but now the trees have lost all of the leaves.

  13. Thank you for this lovely post, Nadezda. I don't think I have ever seen a Linden tree. The colour is so rich. It reminds me of a song I used to sing when in a choir many years ago. It was named 'Linden Lea'. A pretty English folk song. You must enjoy walking in this beautiful area, both in Spring and Autumn.
    Greetings from a hot Melbourne!

    1. Dear Betty, I also liked this song. I found it on YouTube, “Linden lea” by Ralph Wogan Williams. Thanks for your advice, another English song that I love.
