by Elsie N. Brady
How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colors gleaming in the sun.
At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky.
Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow.

Hello Nadezda,
ReplyDeleteThe poem was beautiful. The colors in your garden are wonderful too.
Glad you liked the poem, Marit.
DeleteYou have blended the verse and the pictures beautifully, Nadezda. The poet was new to me and I especially appreciate knowing of her.
ReplyDeleteDavid, I posted my new video "Birds and Flowers" and thought you could tell me about the bird sounds that I used in making the video. Thank you.
DeleteI like the poem very much and your Nadezda garden delights with its autumn colors.
ReplyDeleteI don't know this poet.
Have a nice sunny week.
Lucja, glad you liked the colors of my garden. This colorful time is very short and will end soon . Happy Sunday.
DeleteHello dear Nadezda ! You are so tech savvy to have these little shows of your water colourings !
ReplyDeleteI love seeing my peony and rose ! .. Your Autumn colours are so pretty .. reds and golds are gorgeous and I love the seed heads . The poem was beautiful. Anything to do with Autumn makes me feel happy .. so thank you for that ;-)
I'm sorry for the state of the world right now .. I'm sorry for the good people of Russia and Ukraine that want nothing to do with war .. we have so little control over what happens , so we just have to get through it all some how, hoping that good will prevail. Stay well and safe my friend.
I agree Joy. Autumn is colorful time but rainy and cold. Stay well too.

ReplyDeleteThank you Sandi.
DeleteDei bellissimi colori autunnali! Complimenti! Qui malgrado il caldo, l'autunno sta arrivando davvero velocemente!
ReplyDeleteUn carissimo saluto :)
Tienes razón Gabriel. El otoño llega y se va rápidamente. Aquí están los últimos colores del otoño.

ReplyDeleteThank you dear friend. During these months, I really need your support. The season changes and so does life. Autumn colors are short-lived, quickly disappear.

ReplyDeleteThank you Anke, it's a pleasure to know you like my photos and the poem by Elsie Brady.
DeleteSuch beauty and, at the same time, such ugliness in the world. I didn't want to come back to your blog but, I suppose, there are good and bad people in all nations. Maybe we gardeners turn our thoughts to kindness and light and compassion.
ReplyDeleteDear Friko,I'm touched that you've come here. I agree and believe that we gardeners grow, sow, preserve plants and actually love life and nature.
DeleteOne of your most beautiful posts ever.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear from you, Nadezda. Stay safe and well!
Thank you Sara. Glad you like my autumnal photos.
