I visited the Botanical garden in the summer. It was a hot day, so most of my photos were taken from a shady spot.
The Prague Botanical Garden covers 25 hectares, and its exhibits are located at an altitude of 100 meters. It's a unique place, transformed by the efforts of craftmen into a picturesque oasis of living nature surrounded by the city.
If you look closely, many of the plants in the garden are potted, overwintering indoors in these pots.
The botanical garden is small; here you can see a Japanese garden, Mediterranean flora, forest displays, plants from arid subtropical and tropical regions, vineyards with the Santa Clara Chapel, and a tropical greenhouse.
Of course, I couldn't see everything in one day. The entire area is divided into thematic sections and geographical zones. I enjoyed the diverse collection zones, such as the Turkish and Mediterranean zones, the cactus and steppe zones. The garden's creators took into account all the climatic nuances and characteristics of the area.
At the very top level of the garden are small pools for growing aquatic plants.
If I come to Prague again, I will definitely visit the botanical garden and its vineyards, where you can taste local wines by prior arrangement.
