Spring has already taken over my garden. Daytime temperatures are +20°C, and nights are cooler, +6°C. The buds on the rose bushes have noticeably enlarged and turned red. It's wonderful to see the roses come alive after winter. They overwintered without any special cover.
Not only the bushes but also the moles have awakened. They're actively digging holes and ruining the lawn. It looks like I'll have to tidy up the lawn and fill in the holes with soil. Although there's no guarantee the moles won't dig holes elsewhere.
The tomato and pepper seedlings are slowly growing. I planted them late this spring. I hope they'll be strong when I plant them in the soil in the greenhouse.
The annual flower seedlings are doing well. They're developing quickly and already have leaves. I hope my porch will be beautifully decorated with flowers.
The bright blue stars of chionodoxa are scattered throughout the garden. They've replaced the crocuses, which are already fading.
White pushkinia and blue scilla are also not far behind the chionodoxa and say: Spring in the garden!
I love this time of year when new life begins in the garden.

You have anearly spring this year, Nadezda. It looks like spring here too, but this weekend it will be frost again. I love the ble scilla. I have many of them in my garden. Yes, I love this time of year too. Take care.
ReplyDeleteMarit, you're right, it looks like spring is early this year. Nature is in a hurry.
DeleteSpring has settled in here, too, Nadezda. Warm temperatures have become a daily feature and blooms are appearing everywhere. It was a cold, drawn out winter, so flowers are making us all happy. Best wishes - Davud
ReplyDeleteThe bright spring flowers are a joy after winter. You're having spring too, how wonderful, David.
DeleteKevät on ihanaa aikaa, kun puutarhassa kukinta lisääntyy päivä päivältä.
ReplyDeleteI love vernal flowers as well, Anemone. Thank you.
DeleteBeautiful photos, Nadezda. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Linda. Thanks for your comment.
DeleteBom dia querida querida amiga Nadezda. As fotos ficaram lindas.
ReplyDeleteOf course, temperatures of +20 to +10°C are cold for Brazil, Luis. Dress warmer.
DeleteMy favourite time of year
ReplyDeleteI agree Sue. Thanks for your comment.
DeleteHai le stesse temperature che ci sono qui da noi! Molto piacevoli! Vedo che piacciono anche alle rose e ai tuoi bulbi! Complimenti anche per le semine!
ReplyDeleteUn caro saluto!
It's gotten colder today, Gabriel. I think the plants will slow down a bit. But the vegetables will be in the greenhouse, where they'll be warm.

DeleteIt's so beautiful how spring is awakening in your garden. Everything is much further along here, but the temperatures have dropped again, and for the last few nights we've had temperatures around freezing, with daytime highs between 12 and 15 degrees Celsius... which is good, because the tulips will bloom longer.
ReplyDeleteI wish you much joy... spring is for enjoying – let's do it!
The weather is very unstable, we are also having a cold snap now. But my tulips are still in bud.
DeleteHug from Viola
ReplyDeleteThank you Viola.
DeleteSpring is my favourite season
ReplyDeleteMine too, Sue.
DeleteHello Nadezda,
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how each place has its own challenges regarding cultivation. Here we don't have moles, but we have other animals that challenge us with some kind of planting.
The region where I live is the coldest place in Brazil; we are in autumn, 7 degrees Celsius at night. This region is a popular tourist destination because of the winter temperatures.
I loved your images.
Have a good start to the month of May.
Janicce, oh, how cold it is there at night! I'm glad you liked my photos. Have a wonderful fall!
DeleteChodzę codziennie koło parku Poniatowskiego w Łodzi w drodze do pracy. Cudownie było obserwować jak wiosna i drzewa budzą się do życia. Miłego dnia!
ReplyDeleteAngelika
I'm glad Angela that such beautiful park Poniatowskiego is near your house. Hugs.
DeleteI love spring, at this time all of nature is reborn and blooms.
ReplyDeleteYour annual flower seedlings are doing very well.
How beautiful these flowers are in shades of blue.
Hugs and all the best
Maria, I'm glad you love spring as much as I do. Blue flowers look beautiful in the garden. Hugs!
DeleteDear Nadezda, your garden is waking up beautifully in spring!
ReplyDeleteDue to our climate, plant growth is faster. For example, the tulips have finished blooming, and the roses have already formed flower buds, which the aphids have begun feeding on ;-)
The only problem is that the weather is currently summer-like and there's no rain, so I'm constantly watering every corner of the garden!
Warmest regards!
Anita
I'm glad, Anita, that your roses are starting to bloom. It's time to fight the aphids. I know it's hard work to water "every corner." Good luck!
