I
wanted to look at the wintry Gulf of Finland, the gulf of the Baltic
Sea. In the summer I often swim and sunbathe on the hot yellow sand
there, my summer house isn't far from it.
It
was 10 a.m. A
frost was -10 C (14 F) and have been hard to take photos: luminosity was low, the
temperature was quite low for my camera.
The
bright orange sun rays have made their way through the clouds.
This area of the Gulf of Finland was
covered with ice. If
you look at the horizon, you can distinguish the dark spots. These
are fishermen. In next picture, the figures of fishermen are larger.
They've
come to ice fishing early at the weekend morning, done holes in the
ice, put their fishing rods and sat, waiting for the fish to catch. New
flocks of titmice flew in to feed, they had noticed the rest of the
autumn red apples in neighbors' gardens, seeds and berries in
feeders.
In cold days titmice really need of unsalted bacon piece
and neighbors have hung a small piece to feed them.
It
was nice, but cold day; after lunch I met my neighbors with their
pets. The pets were all well dressed in coats, woolen socks and even
running shoes were on the dogs' feet.
Hi Nadezda! I hope those fishermen caught some fish through the ice. If it were me out there on the Gulf, my toes would freeze!
ReplyDeleteThe dogs look cute. The little birds must be brave to stay around in such cold weather. It's nice that your neighbour feeds them.
Thank you for sharing these photos. Scenes of conditions I've not experienced. Hope you are cosy and warm in your home.
Betty
Yes, Betty, fishermen catch some fish but as usually they count it "in tails" not in kilograms :0)). So to know how much fisherman caught is impossible! My home is warm, and the weather got warmer too, -3C. Thank you!
DeleteLovely winter scenes of ice and sun and clouds --- and ice fishermen on a cold cold day. It all looks peaceful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for nominating my blog --- it's an honor!
Thank you, Laurrie!
DeleteOh my, that water looks cold. It's interesting that it warms up enough in summer for you to swim in! The dogs are very cute and the titmice are adorable! What sweet little birds!
ReplyDeleteOutlaw, The Gulf of Finland is not deep. At a distance of 100m from the shore it is shallow and water warms up quickly in the summer. Thank you!
DeleteBeautiful winter pictures, but it will be very cold. Especially the titmice are lovely, I never get them on the photo, they are too fast and I am too slow. Haha, a dog with running shoes, anyway they will need something on their feet for the cold I suppose, they look funny.
ReplyDeleteTitmouse is poor fellow, has one leg and another is ill (on the last photo to apples). Don't know what happened with him. Thank you, Janneke!
DeleteLovely photos for winter !Your walk seems wonderful .Thank you so much for your kind words and it is a honour for me that you challenged to answer !Have a nice week !

Patrycja, I've read your blog, nice photos.
DeleteThank you, I'm always glad to see new faces!
The Gulf of Finland looks just as it should in winter. Cold, snowy but beautiful. I loved the little doggies in their cute coats! Thanks for recording your weekend walk!
ReplyDeleteIn winter when the Gulf freezes, it seems as I stand in the middle of the desert but not on the sand but on ice and a lot of water under you.Thank you, Astrid!
Deleteso nice! birds en dogs.... groet, Diny
ReplyDeleteDiny, thank you! I hope you haven't the problem with your computer now.
DeleteI've seen those fisherman only on TV. Just thinking about them makes me cold. Hope they got a big catch! How lovely the birds and dogs are!!! Come to think of it, dogs need shoes in such a cold weather.
ReplyDeleteAnd Wooow! I'm excited to be nominated!!! Thank you!!! You like hydrangea the best, so do I:) Ok, I'll respond in a next post.
Keity, especially the little dog are sensitive to cold and frost. But in these warm clothes and shoes they can walk in any weather. Thank you!
DeleteBrrr! It sounds really cold. I'm glad you're staying warm. Take care.
ReplyDeleteGrace, you're lucky, this winter in UK is as spring, it's very mild. The winter here is as always, we used to be in such winter weather. Thank you!
DeleteWhat beautiful photos!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by!
DeleteLovely post, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Barb!
DeleteOh, it looks cold - but the little dogs in their coats are so adorable! The birds are cute, too. I've only ever seen ice fishing on television. It would be a fun experience to have.
ReplyDeleteHolley, the ice fishing would be very cold experience for you! I'm glad you're back to blogging. Thank you!
DeleteNadezda, your second picture is beautiful, the colours are so soft and blended, like a painting. I love the little birds you have photographed, all puffed up against the cold. What is it that the bird is holding onto in photo #6? I would love to put out fruit for the birds if I knew they would eat it :)
ReplyDeleteRosemary, the birds are cold, today is -18 C (-1 F). So the birds need some fat food and people hang up little pieces of unsalted bacon for them. Thank you!
DeleteHey. I saw you inside with Dimi (my blogven)
ReplyDeleteIncredibly beautiful pictures you show love nature images.
I have a photo blog address. www.hbt.finus.dk if you would like to see a little from Denmark.
Wish you a good weekend :) Hanne Bent
Hanne, thank you for dropping by!
DeleteI'm glad you liked my photos.
I'll visit your blog, thank you.
I love how the bird puffed up into a little fluffy ball of pom-pom. The dogs are so well dressed. I rue the day when the owners start to put branded clothes on them.
ReplyDeleteI think the most clothes are home made. The shoes are bought, sure. Thank you!
DeleteGreat description - Beautiful models.
ReplyDeleteYou are very well laid in the image area.

Eco, thank you for stopping by! I will read your blog too.
DeleteHello Nadezda girl !
ReplyDeleteThese pictures were wonderful ... I love the sun setting on that huge open , frozen landscape !
All the bird pictures were wonderful and I have never heard of hanging some bacon out for the birds that is so unusual! .. love to see the little dogs with their jackets and boots on .. too cute.
Now I know some things about you ! .. My son is the same sign ... and I enjoy the same music !
This was a fun post : )
Joy
Joy, here some people hang the piece of bacon only in very cold weather, the last days we had -18 C. As the bird can't eat salt, so the bacon is unsalted. I'm glad you love the same music and my character is similar to your son! Thank you!
DeleteGood evening Nadezda.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your compliments on my blog. Unfortunately I can not upload the Google Translator on your page! It does not work. I'm sorry.
Tak for dine smukke billeder. Det er første gang, at jeg ser en hund med løbesko på fødderne.
Ha´ en dejlig aften.
Hilsen Aase Marie.
Thank you, Marie, I will try to translate copying by hand.
DeleteI love the wonderful snowy pictures, wow, they are so cool, I live in the united states in Southern California, no snow...lol...it was 82 degrees yesterday...love your little sweet doggy and his sweet sweater...
ReplyDeletePhyllis, you're in a such warm climate! Send us some more warmth. Thank you!
DeleteHi Nadezda, The views of the frozen Gulf of Finland are beautiful pastel studies that look peaceful and serene. The poor little birds look so cold! It is a wonder they survive the weather extremes of winter.
ReplyDeleteThese birds, titmice, usually live here all year around, they can survive with the help of people. Thank you, Jennifer!
DeleteI love how creative your neighbors were with the plastic bottle bird feeder. That's a great way to recycle. What a beautiful sunset! :o)
ReplyDeleteOh, Tammy, you noticed this bottle! I wanted to buy a feeder and chose it a long time. Now it's in my garden, has a shape of little house, made of wood and plastic. But my neighbors are creative people and didn't choose feeder. Now the empty plastic bottle has its second life on a branch of a tree. Thank you!
DeleteGreat photos, I love the little shoes on the dogs feet, very cute.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen, I love your new blog title!
DeleteI love the phtoto of the sun rising over the ice. And your bird reminds me of the American chickadee, but a little more colorful!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jason! I tried to write my comment on your blog, but unfortunately world press doesn't permit me without login.
DeleteYour neighbor's dogs are very cute. Love the boots!
ReplyDeleteHa,ha! I love them too! Thank you!
