Spring Flowers For 2021

I want to show you my purchases for spring 2021. As I wrote in my previous post, my garden has become larger. I have grown new plants in my garden nursery, and I want to plant more bulbs to bloom in the spring.
These packets (above) are with Tulip 'Blue diamond' and Tulip 'Sweet sugar'.  'Blue diamond' tulips grew in my garden and disappeared so I want to plant them again. 'Sweet sugar' is very decorative tulip and I'd like to have them a lot, so there are 15 bulbs in a packet.

Above are Crocuse 'Grand Meter', Tulips 'Washington' and 'Cream Upstart'. I love this crocus color. Tulips are tall, I hope they will look beautifully.

On the left is Puschkinia, variety 'Libanotica', the light blue color. The next are Crocus 'Golden yellow' and Tulip 'Donna Bella', nice stripped ones.

My favorite daffodil is the 'Ice King' variety (left). I have three of them, I bought three more. The tulip 'Blue parrot' variety (in the middle) is new to me, I hope they will grow well. Crocus 'Prince Claus' is cute, two-tone.

Here is a photo of the new part of the garden that has been added to the old one. As you can see, it is empty and I need to work hard to make it cozy and beautiful. One plum tree grows here, I planted several hydrangeas and thujas. Hopefully the new tulips, daffodils, Puschkinia and a few more perennials will grow well next spring.

It was very interesting to see the bulbs you had chosen (and if I had a fresh, young brain, I would start to learn the Russian alphabet. :)) My favourite is the tulip 'Cream Upstart'.
Happy gardening. Stay safe and well!

  23. Ice King is very beautiful. Have you tried "Angelique" tulip? I grew this last year and it was long lasting and became paler as it opened. It's also quite tall. This year I have SO many bulbs - I ordered some in May when I got the catalogue, and then (predictably) forgot and ordered more in September. I'm interested that I ordered mostly the same ones, and I was quite glad to have ordered some in May which were sold out by September! But it's been a real problem finding enough pots for them. I shall have to be more careful in future. Oh, the other thing is that squirrels dig them up so perhaps I won't have as many as I am expecting :( I will look forward to seeing your pictures of the bulbs when they come out next Spring.

    1. You ordered so many bulbs, Jenny. I love to see tulips and daffodils in bloom in spring and hope to see a beautiful landscape. I don't have an "Angelica" tulip and I want to find it next fall, because the planting time has already passed here. I advise you to cover all the pots of potted bulbs with a special black cloth so that the water can pass into the pot and the bulbs do not freeze. The squirrel cannot dig them up.
