Christmas Clivia

 

Christmas has come! 

On this holiday, Clivia bloomed in the house. This is so unexpected, so I decided that it is quite worthy to be the Christmas flower in my house.


The bright orange-yellow color of its eight buds seems to illuminate my desk where I am writing this post at the computer.


A Merry Christmas!

      I would too, David at any time. Usually Clivia blooms in spring.

    Lovely clivia we have a few but none in flower at the moment. Most are orange some grown from seed but one is a lovely pale yellow

    Вчера я обдирала пятнистые листья рододендрона и думала о Вас. О Вашем совете. Зимой он не потерял листву. Пока идут дожди. Надо будет выбрать время, чтобы обработать кусты и землю вокруг по Вашему совету.

      Лола, конечно, надо помочь рододендрону прийти в себя. То, что идут дожди перед зимой, это очень полезно для него. Он запасает влагу в листьях. Пускай часть листьев останется. Мои свернули листья в трубочку чтобы на морозе не высохли вечнозеленые листья.
      Кливия тоже меня удивила. Я обычно покупаю пуансеттию к Рождеству, но тут решила: пусть Кливия будет рождественским цветком.С наступающим Новым годом вас и семью!

    Hallo Nadezda,
    schon lange habe ich keine Clivie gesehen. Früher hatte meine Mutter immer blühende Clivien auf dem Fensterbrett. Die hübschen Pflanzen sind in Vergessenheit geraten. Wie schön, sie bei dir zu sehen.
    Ich wünsche dir ein wunderbares neues Jahr voller Gesundheit und Zuversicht.

      I agree that clivia is now a rare indoor plant. I do not know why. I often see it in public places such as a hotel or a cinema. Thank you and I wish you a Happy New Year too, Anette.
