Summer, red roses are blooming. Some gardeners consider red roses to be a bit of a hackneyed symbol of love. But if you look at the plant, how it diligently opens its buds, how it withstands wind and rain, you can say that the red rose is a very resilient plant.
It is believed that one red rose is a romantic symbol of love. This is a more discreet way to express your love for someone. Roses with red buds can be found among hybrid tea roses to floribunda, climbing and bush roses - these best varieties are distinguished by bright red flowers, captivating aroma and versatility. For example, the Flamentanz rose (above) winters well, blooms in June - July.
My other red roses are quite unpretentious, they can withstand winter frosts and snowdrifts. The bushes are low, completely covered with snow in winter and tolerate frosts very well. In spring, you have to cut off dried branches, but new shoots quickly grow in their place.
The last photos show a red-carrot rose. After the winter it was very weak, in June it had 4 branches and blossomed. The flowers are an unusual color, they smell wonderful.
Do you love red roses? What red roses do you have in your place?
ReplyDeleteEinen sonnigen Sonntag
wünscht Dir
Anke
Thank you for your wishes, Anke. I hope you will plant another red rose in your garden.
DeleteYour roses looks fantastic, Nadezda. I have very few red roses. One of them is 'Munstead Wood' from Austin roses.
ReplyDeleteI love Austin roses as well. They winter well here and the flowers are very nice, Marit.
DeleteYour roses are fabulous, Nadezda. Summer is drawing to a close now and the nights are already starting to get longer, so it’s especially wonderful to have this burst of colour. Very best wishes - David
ReplyDeleteYou are right, David, the nights are getting longer, the sun is not as high as in June. Red roses add bright colors to the days.
DeleteIhanat ruusut. Minulla on köynnösruusu Flammentanz.
ReplyDeleteYes, this is a wonderful rose, Anemone. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLuiz, I'm glad you liked my roses. Thank you.
DeleteWonderful roses ❤️
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful color that last rose is, I could almost smell it.
Greetings and all the best for you
The last one is a beautiful rose, Maria. You're right it smells nice.
DeleteDear Nadezda!
ReplyDeleteYour rose bushes are beautiful. Summer is slowly ending, but the African heat is still present. Our plants in the gardens are tired of water and rain.
I wish you a happy week.
I agree, Lucia, there is a lot of rainwater every day. The poor roses don't have time to dry.
DeleteChe belle rose!
DeleteI do love red roses especially those with perfune but I have forgotten the name of ours.
