Looking For Christmas Cards

Perhaps you are now wondering what Christmas greeting cards to send to your loved ones? This week I started looking for pretty Christmas cards too as I wanted to buy something interesting.

In November, I began to learn the technique of watercolor in online very helpful tutorials. I want to show you my pictures made in watercolors. When I was painting them I could not find the correct shade of paint to depict the snow, and redid the paintings twice.

I added greetings (in English and in Russian) to the files. I also designed greetings in different ways and I think to print the pictures like Christmas cards.

Now I am in doubt whether to buy Christmas cards in the post office or print my drawings. I am critical of my work, I know that they are not professional. What cards do you think I should send?

I'm so happy my Schlumbergera is blooming before Christmas. It decorates my home together with Poinsettia.

  3. Hi Nadezda,

The Christmas cards are all so beautiful. I have a Schlumbergera with the same color as you have who blooms right now. They are very easy to take care of. Pretty Poinsettia too.
    Greetings, Marit

    1. Marit, I have a secret on how to make Schlumberger bloom - I don't water it for about 2 weeks :-)

  4. Your cards are wonderfully done, Nadezda. Send you own creations which are PERFECT because they are your own creation. Don't even consider buying cards when you have this opportunity to show off your talent. Makes me wish I was on your list!!

    1. And thank you for your comment today! It's very interesting to learn about the festive and culinary traditions of our neighbouring countries. Some of the tastiest things in our kitchen come from Russia. :)
As I probably have written many times, I find fascinating how the word 'кислый' (according to Wikipedia) has spread to other languages. It's 'kiisseli' in Finnish.

    2. Sara, I think that a word 'кислый' is a word 'hapan' in Finnish.
And the Finnish word 'kiisseli' is Russian word 'кисель'. Those two words sound pretty much the same and mean the drink made from fruit or milk.

    3. You're right Sara, I'll pick the one that I think is the best and send it to my relatives.

    4. Thank you for correcting the Russian word. Kiisseli is my favourite dessert. 😊

  7. Beautiful Christmas cards. When I was a child it was a tradition to send a postcard to friends and family, but unfortunately over time this tradition disappeared. Today I don't receive any postcards and I send only one to my daughter who lives in Macau.
My mother had a plant just like yours, which blooms at Christmas, it's so beautiful.
    Have a nice day
