I love tulips and always pay attention to their height and flowering time indicated on the packaging and try to select varieties that will delight from mid-April to early June based on flowering time.
Bright colors, graceful form and ease of cultivation have made tulips one of the most beloved garden flowers. I don’t remember, but one spring, fringed and double tulips appeared in my garden, planted so that each flower could be examined separately. My main goal in growing tulips is to decorate the garden.
Tulips are fairly unpretentious plants and can tolerate any garden soil and location. I always follow the feeding and select a place for the plants. After flowering, the dying foliage of tulips is covered by hostas, dicentra, phlox and conifers growing nearby, which grow back just in time for the yellowing of the tulip foliage.
I do not dig up tulip bulbs every year. You can leave them in one place for 2-3 years. If you do not plan to dig up tulips for several years, do not forget to mark their planting sites so as not to damage them later.
If you have tulips growing in your garden, tell me about your experience growing them.
Liebe Nadezda,

Anke, I'm glad you like my tulips. My leg is also getting better, I walk around the garden, it's nice to touch the plants.
DeleteThe weather is rainy here, it's cold at night.
Thanks for the comment!
Kauniita.
ReplyDeleteKiitos, Kruunuvuokko.
DeleteYour tulips looks wonderful, Nadezda. I have only a wild form for tulips in my garden. The name is Tulip puchella 'Persian Pearl'. I don't need to dig them up, and they blooms every year.
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky to have a wild variety of tulips, Marit. It's convenient not to dig them up and know that they won't die in the winter.
DeleteTulips are indeed beautiful, Nadezda, and uniquely cheerful, somehow. I hope that one day you might be able to visit Ottawa to enjoy the annual Tulip Festival there. All the best - David
ReplyDeleteThe annual tulip festival - sounds tempting and gives me hope that I will be able to see this beauty, David. But Ottawa is so far away from us...
DeleteWhat beautiful tulips you have! I just adore them!
ReplyDeleteSo do I, Irina. Thank you.
DeleteQuello giallo a fiore doppio è incredibile! Assomiglia ad un fiore di loto.
ReplyDeleteTi auguro un'ottima settimana.
Sì, Gabriel, il tulipano giallo è fantastico. Buon giugno.
DeleteBellas flores. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteGracias, J.P. Un beso.
DeleteHello Nadezda, your photos are fantastic! Beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda for your kind words.
DeleteBom dia. Obrigado pelas fotos maravilhosas.
ReplyDeleteLuiz, estoy contenta que te gusten mis fotos. Un saludo.
DeleteYour garden is full of the natural beauty.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked my garden, RTC.
DeleteI also really like tulips, they are beautiful and delicate flowers that give a special charm to gardens.
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos 👏
Greetings and all the best for you
I also love the smell of tulips - it's a spring scent.
DeleteThey certainly brighten things
ReplyDeleteI agree, Sue.
Abrazo.
DeleteHello Nadezda,
ReplyDeleteThe second image is very beautiful!
I have tried to have some in the garden, and they even bloomed
but I lost the bulbs, and they ended up going away with other
roots. There are some states in Brazil where the predominance
is German colonization, and we certainly see more tulips.
Lately I have more native plants in the garden.
Have a good weekend.
Janice.
